Thousand-Armed Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva (千手地藏王菩萨)

Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva is the symbol of Great Vows. Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva is also known as Kṣitigarbha King Bodhisattva.

Due to his vow, "If the hells are not empty, I vow not to attain Buddhahood", he is referred to by devotees as the Kṣitigarbha King Bodhisattva of Great Vows . His sacred dwelling is Mount Jiuhua in Anhui province.

Regarding the origin of the name Kṣitigarbha, it is recorded in the Kṣitigarbha Bodhisattva Ten Wheels Sutra that he is: "As unmoving and enduring as the great earth, and as profound and secret in contemplation as a hidden treasury ," which is why his name is "Di Zang".
