Green Tara (绿度母)

In Tibetan Buddhism, Green Tara is an incarnation of Avalokitesvara. Tara, also known in Sanskrit as Tara, stands for Holy Salvation Mother. In ancient my country, she was known as Tara Bodhisattva and Tara Avalokitesvara. While there are many different incarnations of Tara, all are incarnations of Avalokitesvara. Green Tara is the principal Taras, capable of relieving suffering from eight kinds of afflictions and is also known as the "Savior of the Eight Difficulties."

She eliminates the worries and sufferings of all sentient beings, removes all diseases, karma, demonic obstacles, etc., helps sentient beings to escape from the sea of suffering of life and death, and be reborn in the Pure Land after death to obtain ultimate happiness. Because of her swift rescue and her bravery in destroying demonic karma, she is also called the "Swift and Brave Mother of Rescue."

Green Tara is a great bodhisattva who saves the world. She sits on a white lotus seat. According to her original vow, she is the incarnation of Avalokitesvara who sheds tears out of compassion for all living beings in the world. Therefore, she is the most compassionate.
